Terms of Service
Last Updated: December 29, 2025
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "User") and Orthodox Homepage, operator of www.orthodoxhomepage.com (the "Website"), and its associated web and mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Orthodox Homepage, a company based in the United States.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
1. Use of the Service
The Service provides information, resources, and features related to Orthodox Christianity for users in the United States. You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable federal, state, or local law or regulation.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or any related systems.
2. Accounts
To access certain features of the Service, you may need to create an account using Auth0 for authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. For information on how to request deletion of your account and personal data, see Section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
3. Payments
Certain features of the Service may require payment. Payments are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy. Orthodox Homepage does not store your full payment information; only necessary transaction details are handled through Stripe to facilitate the payment.
For paid event tickets specifically, the following Payment Terms and Agreement apply to organizers and attendees:
- Ticket purchases are processed via Stripe. Funds are held by the platform in escrow rather than paid directly to the organizer at the time of purchase.
- Paid events may offer multiple ticket packages at different prices. Organizers may set no capacity limit, an overall event capacity, or a separate capacity for each package. Buyers select a package at checkout before payment.
- A platform commission, calculated as a percentage of the ticket price plus a small fixed amount, with a floor and ceiling, is deducted from the organizer's payout. This commission is never added on top of the price the buyer pays. The exact rate that will apply to a listing is always shown to the organizer before they publish a paid event.
- Where required by law, applicable sales tax is calculated on the ticket price and added to the amount charged at checkout; the platform collects and remits this tax as the merchant of record and it is shown separately from the ticket price before payment.
- After the event ends, the platform may release the organizer's share to their connected Stripe account (typically starting the day after the scheduled end date, as a fraud-prevention measure). Stripe then pays that balance out to the organizer's bank on Stripe's normal schedule, which usually takes a few business days.
- Organizers must complete identity verification through Stripe Connect before they are eligible to receive payouts.
- Refunds are handled through the platform's refund-request process and are subject to review.
4. Location Services
The Service may use Google Maps and location services to provide location-based features. Your use of these features is subject to Google's terms of service.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service and its content, features, and functionality are owned by Orthodox Homepage or its licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
6. User Content
If you submit or post content to the Service, you grant Orthodox Homepage a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute such content in connection with the Service. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to such content.
7. Termination
Orthodox Homepage may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Orthodox Homepage shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Georgia, USA.
11. Changes to Terms
Orthodox Homepage may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
